Meeting the Needs

One of our charities, The Pet Project, in Wilton Manors, Florida, has recently been featured on local tv in South Florida. Executive Director, Sue Martino described how this 501(c)(3)non profit serves well over 2,000 clients in financial difficulty all in need of vital services that are unaffordable on their limited incomes. They provide wellness care, vaccines, medicine, rabies shots, collars, leashes and other accessories for pets.

The Pet Project, is a lifeline for these struggling pet owners that do not want to surrender their pets to the shelters. The community animal shelters are full and being the largest pet retention program in Florida, The Pet Project, works with them to help reduce overcrowding.

A much needed addition to their program has been the purchase of a van to serve as a mobile wellness unit that will serve as an outreach to those in the community without transportation.

It will have an examination table, basic diagnostic tools, refrigeration for vaccines, storage for supplies and an area for minor procedures. Many of the clients are homebound so this is a wonderful blessing.

There is a thrift store next to their warehouse called Hidden Treasures, which is 100% volunteer run with all proceeds going to their program. Donations are always welcome.

Check out the video clip we have posted for contact information.
